In the age of modern technology where data plans are practically a necessity, companies like Cricket Wireless and MetroPCS appeal to consumer needs of offering data plans without an annual contract. Due to the success of these no contract companies, companies that offer no contract programs such as AT&T’s GoPhone struggle to compete. In lieu of the holidays approaching, AT&T’s GoPhone division is offering a number of deals on select smartphones for a limited time. One of the best deals is the ZTE Maven which is free of charge on one condition, the customer has to activate the phone on a $45 or up monthly plan.

Although the ZTE Maven phone regularly costs $40, with this holiday promotion, customers can get this phone for free upon paying for the monthly plan. A $45 monthly plan offers unlimited calling, text, and video messaging within the United States, international communication with no limits, and 1.5 GB of high-speed data which should cover the basic needs of an average consumer. If needed, there are other plans that users can opt for if they would like to increase certain features such as their data plan. The Maven sports a 4.5 inch display and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 chip paired with 1 GB of RAM. The phone also offers 4G LTE connectivity, 8 GB of expandable storage, a 5-megapixel main camera, VGA front-facing shooter, and a 2,100 mAh battery which is good for up to 10 hours of talk time.

Other phones included in the promotion include the Motorola Moto E, the Asus ZenFone 2E, and the ZTE ZMAX 2. The Moto E is available for $15 through this promotion and is well-known for being a budgeter’s favorite. It offers a 4.5 inch qHD display (not to be mistaken with QHD), a quad-core Qualcomm chipset, a 5-megapixel touch and shoot rear camera with a quick launch system, and a 2,390 mAh battery. If you do not mind spending a bit more money, the ZenFone 2E is currently available for $60 and offers consumers with a large 5 inch display with HD resolution, 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front-facing cameras with advanced shooting options, 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 4G LTE connectivity, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage expandable up to 64 GB, and a 2,500 mAh battery. Finally, the priciest option at $90 is the ZTE ZMAX 2. This phone has a 5.5 inch HD display and a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 32GBG of expandable storage, 3,000 mAh battery, as well as an 8-megapixel camera on the back and 2-megapixel camera on the front.

Each of these phones offers Android enthusiasts different features for very reasonable prices. So if you haven’t found a Christmas gift yet for a loved one or if you are looking to give yourself a gift but do not want to be bogged down by an annual contract, consider going to an AT&T store in order to learn more about the promotion which only lasts through the holidays.
