Calcutta Institute of Engineering and Management, Kolkata, West Bengal was founded in 2003. The college provides educational facilities in the field of Engineering and Management. The courses offered by the college are as follows:

The placement of CIEM in 2014 was 99.47% and even this year the college saw many great companies with god packages. This year there was a total of 317 placements as of now. Companies such as Tech Mahindra, INFOWAY, HCL Technology (Maintech), WIPRO, Reliance Communication Ltd, TCS, and Amazon (Co-Cubes) came for on- campus placements.

The college provides good industry exposure to students through various sessions and training programs. The college ensures to provide interactive session to students by industry captains. Topics about the market scenario, expectations of an industry, strategies and measures adopted by the industry and presentation of skill sets are covered, to prepare students for their respective industries. The college has successfully constructed a strong infrastructure to cater the needs of the student and provide them with a strong platform in respect to placement assistance in the industrial, technical and managerial fields. Students undergo vocational trainings at various reputed organizations such as BSNL, Siemens, DVC, TCS, Webel Informatics Ltd., IBM, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Tata Communications Ltd., NTPC, SAIL Power Co. Ltd., and CESC Ltd., etc. The college conducts regular training programs, one on one industry-institute interface, counseling and personality development sessions, and various aptitude, technical, language and reasoning tests.

Candidates interested in B Tech courses must have passed 10+ 2 with Physics and Mathematics as the compulsory subjects. They should also have appeared for either JEE Mains or WBJEE. The application forms for the WBJEE will be available from 5 January, 2016 onwards, till 29 February, 2016. The admit cards for the exam will be available from 4 April, 2016. It is an objective type test which is scheduled to be held on 17 May, 2016. The application forms for JEE Mains will be available from 1 December 2015 till 31 December, 2015. The test will be held on 3 April, 2016, 9 April, 2016 and 10 April, 2016. One can apply online for the same.
