Vishwaroopam 2 is an upcoming Tamil spy thriller film being written and directed Kamal Haasan. It is the sequel to Vishwaroopam (2013) and stars Kamal Haasan, Rahul Bose, Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jeremiah reprising their roles from the original. While the first film was set in the United States, Vishwaroopam 2 will take place in India. Produced by Venu Ravichandran in Tamil, the film is also being produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor in Hindi as Vishwaroop 2. The film is in its post-production stage and is slated for a late-2013 release. The Tamil version of the film is to be dubbed into Telugu as Viswaroopam 2.

As indicated in the prequel, the film will be set in India. Kamal Haasan’s movie Vishwaroopam 2 has earlier indicated that the second part will be laced with a strong mother-son sentiment. He stated that 40% of the film was shot during the making of part one. Due to personal reasons, cinematographer Sanu Varghese opted out of Vishwaroopam 2. He was replaced by Malayali Shamdat Sainuddeen who did Malayalam films like director Shyamaprasad's musical Rithu and Shafi's Marykundoru Kunjadu. M Ghibran was signed up to compose the music.

The shooting of Vishwaroopam 2 started in Thailand and the team shot scenes at the Bangkok airbase. The Chennai schedule of the film started on June 13.Haasan has added Waheeda Rahman & Anant Mahadevan for the sequel in addition to the main cast. While part 1 was a little over 2 hours 20 minutes, the sequel's length will be less than 2 hours. The crew is currently shooting in Kodaikanal hills.
