Rebecca Lynn Zygutis is a certified swimming instructor for all skill levels and Red Cross life saving. Recently, she was invited in a talk show, where she talked about the numerous benefits of swimming. She referred to it as the best exercise to stay in shape and shed those extra pounds that make you look unattractive.

While throwing light on the role of swimming in weight loss, Rebecca Lynn Zygutis said, "A swimming pool may not be the first place most people think of when looking to slim down, but perhaps it should be. It burns calories, firms your muscles, and boosts metabolism faster than many other forms of workout. Most of you will be surprised to know that thirty minutes of breaststroke can help you burn almost 367 calories; beating walking, cycling, & even running. As water is almost 800 times denser than air; your every kick, push, & pull is a mini-resistance-workout for your body – particularly for your core, arms, hips, and shoulders."

Rebecca Lynn Zygutis also provides swimming lessons to poor children for free. She says that it is her way of contributing towards the society. She has been engaged in this act of kindness since the starting of her career as a swimming instructor. Her motivation behind providing free swimming lessons to poor kids is her own story.

She was born in a poor family and lost her parents at the age of six. She was raised by her aunt, who was a cleaner at a sports club and cleaned the swimming pools. She often accompanied her aunt at work and admired the swimmers. However, her aunt could not afford the swimming classes for her at such a big sports club. This is when they came to know about an NGO providing free swimming classes. Rebecca took the membership of their program and learnt different styles of swimming. Today, she is a certified swimming instructor and wants to train as many poor kids as possible. "Training them is a fulfilling experience." she says.

Rebecca has a busy work schedule, but still she manages to take out some time for her family members whom she loves very much. Her husband is a teacher working at a local school. In free time, she likes visiting different places and cultures around the world, and Paris is her favorite place.
