. HTC confirmed the rumors and announced their new metallic Android device, the HTC One X9.

.Following the recent release of the HTC One A9, there have been rumors regarding a new, more affordable HTC device coming soon to the market. Through various reports of rumors and speculations, interested consumers compared this device to the One A9 however, nothing was confirmed until earlier this week

Looking at the specifications list, the HTC One X9 is what one would expect from a premium, modern device with a mid-range price tag. It has a 5.5 inch 1080 pixel display, an octa-core MediaTek X10 chipset, 3 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage with a dedicated microSD slot giving users the option up to 2 TB in storage.

. The One X9 comes with BoomSound front-facing stereo speakers and even re-introduced the back-lit capacitive Android buttons. The HTC One X9 is priced for 2,399 yuan (roughly $370) off-contract in China making this the most affordable HTC hero device ever. Although no information regarding the pre-ordering or shipping have been released, HTC did confirm the phone’s specifications in the most recent information and photo leak

It is uncertain whether the device will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow as HTC has not provided consumers with any information regarding a date for pre-ordering or shipping however, it would not be surprising if it did just like the One A9. At its current price however, HTC is making a bold attempt to compete with mobile manufacturers such as Huawei, Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi who currently dominate the price tier in China. For interested consumers outside of China, it will be interesting to see if HTC offers the One X9 at a similar bargain and what markets the phone will be available.

The device is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery capable of fast charging and has dual Nano SIM slots. Radio wise, users will get the regular UMTS 3G and China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA 3G, along with dual-mode LTE. Similar to the smaller, more expensive One A9, the One X9 has a 13 megapixel f/2.0 main camera with optical stabilization plus dual tone flash as well as an UltraPixel f/2.0 front camera on the front for better low-light shots
