BLU Products, a United States based phone maker, is known for its affordable yet capable hardware. BLU wants to give the Motorola Moto G a run for its money by introducing the affordable new generation of the Life One X. The unlocked Life One X generally sells for $150 however it was on sale through December 12th for only $100. Not only were they offering a $50 rebate, BLU was also bundling a leather flip view case and premium stereo headphones for free with each phone.

The BLU Life One X comes in black or white and is made from an aluminum frame which has been sand blasted to achieve a soft-touch matte finish. The back cover is plastic finished with a leather-like texture and covered in smooth paint with Gorilla Glass 3 for the screen. The specifications on this phone read similar to a standard mid-level Android phone.

It is powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop software, however it will upgrade to Marshmallow in the first quarter of 2016 and has a 5.2-inch screen with a 1,080 high definition pixel resolution. The phone offers users a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase-detection autofocus with 5P Blue Lens filter and a 5-megapixel front facing camera with LED flash. It also has a 64-bit MediaTek 1.3 GHz octa-core processor, 2 GB RAM, and 16 GB of internal storage but it is also equipped with a microSD expansion card slot allowing for an additional 64 GB of space. The phone is also equipped with dual-SIM support and 4G LTE all while being powered by a 2,900 mAh battery.

The Life One X is compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile’s data networks and is available exclusively on Amazon for interested consumers. Even though the $100 promotion ended on December 12th, the Life One X phone is available for $150 regular price which is still cheaper than the Motorola Moto G phone which sells for approximately $180. The phone itself offers most of the same features as other Androids at a more affordable price however, it performs well on a benchmark test despite its lower cost.
