There might be rumours that studying in Switzerland is a costly affair and that studying in this country could set you back by a lot of money, but in reality this is not true. In fact according to the Anglo-Saxon system of education, studying in Switzerland is quite minimal.

The education cost for studying in Switzerland can range between SFR fifty thousand and SFR one lakh fifty thousand per year. Cost of studying in Switzerland is comparatively less because most of the universities in this country are still owned by the public domain and are paid for by the tax payers. Hence the costs of studying in these universities is comparatively lower.

Apart from these universities there are a few semi private Italian universities who offer students some of the most excellent programs in the country and require the international students to pay a little extra amount as per their tuition fee which is a pittance when compared to the humongous amounts an international student might have to pay elsewhere.

When one lives out of their homes, let alone study in an international destination then food is the major over head for expenditure which we need to cover. On an average in Switzerland it costs around SFR one thousand and eight hundred per week. Then the upkeep of one self might amount to a decent amount of eight hundred to eight hundred and fifty SFR and lodging which also is a very important part of living abroad may cost between four hundred and six hundred SFR. Apart from this other miscellaneous expenses like insurance, transportation etc. might cost anywhere between two hundred to two hundred and fifty SFR in a month on an average.

This said, students should also be vary of the first months of settling down which might see an influx in the costs incurred. This is so because of things like medical insurance, first semester tuition fee, and the rent which involves an obligatory payment of a security deposit. After a couple of months these costs settle down and then the average costs may come in to functioning.

On an average a student studying in this beautiful country can expect the costs of living in here to be ranging between SFR sixteen thousand to SFR twenty four thousand. Depending on where the student wishes to study in Switzerland, cities like Geneva and Zurich might cost more on the pocket but other smaller cities might be easy on the pocket.
