Adoption is a noble cause and people are now days aware towards such noble deed. The reason behind adoption can vary; some people adopt child as they are not able to reproduce while some do it for noble cause. After the adoption, the noncustodial parents do not have any right on the child. There is not a huge difference between a biological child and an adopted child legally. Different countries have different rules and policies to adopt a child. Like, in few states the adoption is not approved till the adopter has been married to the parent of child. Stepparent adoption procedure have two ways, one in which the noncustodial parent have to written statement while in the second way, you have to follow law and submit the papers to judge.

  • Adopting and legal parent must be married.
  • Adopting parent must be of 18 years old or more than that.
  • The adopted child parent must approve the adoption.
  • If child is 12 years old, then he have right to refuse about the adoption if he/she does not wants to be adopted.
