Locate the preference menu in the software to choose the cutting method. Most laser machines use two methods- raster and vector. Raster is used to engrave and vector is used to cut out pieces.
• It is also important to set cutting line as per the material chosen. Wider lines can take more time to cut. Speed of cutting should also be adjusted according to the material. Once all these options have been selected, you can go for final cutting.

Points To Consider While Laser Cutting

• Laser power has to be adjusted as per the type and thickness of material.
• Cutting gas should also be chosen as per the material to be cut. For example, wood must not be cut with oxygen as it could catch fire.
• Also, right nozzle has to be selected. For example, high pressure cutting requires nozzle with a bigger hole.
• Nozzle distance is equally important. Nozzle should be held at position such that it does not touch the workpiece.
