Posted: Jan 25, 2016
The major highlights of the shocking 2014 Texas Motor Vehicle Crash Statistics report state that 43.8 % of the cases where a fatality occurred, no restraints such as seat belts and vehicle safety measures were being used where they should have been used.
As many as 237, 941 people suffered non fatal injuries to their person as a result of road crashes involving motor vehicles with pedestrian fatalities numbering 486, 50 cyclists and 463 motorcyclists.
Fully 1,041 people forming 29 % of the total fatalities arising out of automobile accidents involved cases where at least one driver was under the influence of alcohol.
483 people were also killed because the driver was suffering a distraction in 2014 in Texas which is an increase of 4 % of the number killed in 2013.
In all, there were 1.42 deaths per hundred million vehicle miles on Texas roadways and this amounts to a 2.16 % increase over the previous period.
At least 17,152 people suffered an incapacitating injury due to such crashes and rural areas of the State accounted for 55.86 % of all traffic fatalities. More shockingly, there were absolutely no deathless days in Texas in 2014 that could not be attributed to a traffic accident.
It is clear from these statistics that somewhere the system is failing. Quite apart from the pain and anger that is generated among the survivors and affected friends and relatives, it would seem that little is being done by powerful figures in authority or influential at-fault drivers who have the finances or social clout to deny justice to the suffering victims.

The sad fact is that insurance companies that represent the blameworthy driver have huge financial backing and resources to manipulate the law in their favor.
It is said that knowledge is power. However, that knowledge should be matched with experience in the courtroom for any chance of your claims being realized. Car accident lawyers in Dallas are overburdened and it is hard to find one who can represent your story and the ethical imperative of your needs to a hard nosed judicial system.

Martin who has been working among the public in Dallas for over 18 years in a number of high profile cases including the risperdal lawsuit, involving large companies, says that sympathy seems to missing from today’s lawyers who dress up in business suits but wilt under pressure of the work involved in gathering evidence and doing the research that goes with fighting for justice.
