Facial restoration is an advanced form of plastic surgery and it is the latest technique to be introduced in the field of cosmetic surgery. Ocular Prosthetic is an artificial replacement of the natural eye, which may either be damaged or lost due to an ailment or an injury. There are many techniques involved in the removal of the damaged eye and its replacement with a new ocular prosthetic. Most of the patients are provided with a customized ocular prosthesis as each one has a different reason for the fixing of the ocular prosthetic. The ocular prosthetic implant is made out of a plastic acrylic which is hard and is shell shaped. An ocular implant is first prepared according to the size and shape of the patient’s socket structure. The ocular implant is then placed on which the "eye" is fixed. Though the ocular prosthetic eye will not restore the lost vision, at least the face will not seem unsightly.
The prosthetic devices are created in order to help the patient overcome the conditions of impaired facial, neck and oral regions which can not only make the face look unsightly for others, but it can turn the person to become depressed, low in confidence and completely vulnerable.About the Author
