How often do I need to renew my real estate license?

Once you have earned your Utah real estate license, it will remain valid for two years. After the two years have passed, certain steps have to be taken to renew it. One of the key steps for renewal is taking continuing education classes through a real estate school in Utah. The classes must be completed to renew your license. Once they are finished, you can then apply for the renewal. The request must be completed within six weeks of your license's expiration date and before it has expired. To renew the license you must take at least 18 hours of certified real estate education courses. These are courses that are designed to increase your knowledge and ability to work as an agent. Remember that courses must be completed by the 15th of the month to ensure they can be credited towards your renewal.

What is continuing education?

There is no challenging the fact that technology is changing how every industry functions. This is especially true in the real estate industry. Things like virtual tours and drone videos are changing how homes are shown and sold. Continuing education classes are designed to help keep agents up to date with current trends and technology. They also help them to continue to grow and develop as agents. Through these classes, agents can keep up with the latest technology and improve skills. Another benefit and reason for the classes it to help keep undedicated agents from flooding the market. By having to take classes and renew their license it makes sure that agents who are engaged and dedicated to the profession continue and helps limit those that aren’t.

What types of continuing education courses are available?

There is a variety of different continuing education classes for that you to choose to take. You pick classes that provide a more in-depth understanding of real estate in general or choose one that can help you work towards a specialty such as commercial real estate. There is a required 12 hour class for all agents who received their license after 2007 and are renewing it for the first time. Stringham Schools has set up a large variety of classes that work towards their renewal. A major benefit of working with Stringham Schools is that you can purchase their continuing education classes by the hour. By purchasing classes by the hour, you can pick just the classes you want and not have to watch (and pay for) unnecessary classes.
