Sterilization of equipment in a laboratory has its unique requirements. Finding the perfect steam sterilizer depends on various considerations: frequency of use, load volumes, load diversity, and available services. Variety of table top sterilizers successfully meet the challenges in laboratories and research institutes every day. Advanced laboratory autoclave has features like top loading and table top sterilizers have fast cooling, waste treatment and optional drying options.

A single solution is provided by advanced laboratory for the complete spectrum of requirements of sterilization which include instruments, glassware, liquids, pipette tips, culture media, biological waste, and other laboratory items. This sterilizer is needed to accommodate for a wide range of applications. User should be able to choose to add features according to his requirements of sterilization. These are usually available with chamber volumes from 23 to 160 liters.

More time is needed for liquids to reach certain sterilization temperature in comparison to non-liquids. Advanced laboratory sterilizer is provided with flexible temperature load sensor feature, which is installed in a reference vessel, to ensure the sterilization temperature that is set, is truly attained when sterilization starts. Sterilization initiates when the load sensor reaches the already set required temperature. After sterilization is achieved, the sterilizer door cannot be opened, but only after the liquid is thoroughly cooled down. This cooling method avoids any sudden drop inside chamber pressure which can make liquids to boil over. Also, another challenge is the need to avoid media exposure to peak temperatures for longer times; they might harm the quality of the media. Advanced options that minimize time liquids are exposed to peak temperatures are needed.

Safety features are needed to ensure functionality and a danger-free work environment which results in minimized downtime.

Door Safety a must

The sterilizer lids are needed to be designed with a no. of independent digital& mechanical safety features.

  • Safety device needed to prevent the person operating the sterilizer from opening the door while chamber is pressurized

  • Steam should not be allowed to enter chamber while door is open

  • A cycle should not start if the door is not properly locked or is open

  • The door should not unlock till liquid temperature reaches the set temperatures according to the instructions.

  • The door should not get unlocked until chamber pressure reduced to room pressure

  • Temperature Activated Door Lock is needed - The door should not open till the temperature is reached below an instructed safe level.

Mandatory General Safety Features:

  • Double Independent Monitoring: For accurate results a combination of electronic and mechanical guarantees are essential. The laboratory technician can use two independent means to monitor these temperatures and pressures.

  • Safety Valves: The chamber should be provided with safety valves – if the pressure increases more than the allowed limit the safety valves will be there to discharge them for safety.

  • Built-in Steam Generator Safety: A water level monitoring system is needed to maintain constant water level and also to ensure the safe operation of the heaters.
