Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association Create Jobs in Myanmar for 3000 Textile Workers

The Ministry of Border Affairs is working with the Garment Manufacturers Association of Myanmar to help the 30,000 textile workers around the country to find jobs in Myanmar.
The Ministry of Border Affairs program has already trained 50,000 textile workers across the country and 20,000 students successfully placed in jobs or self-employment.
The ministry is working with the Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association (MGMA) to find jobs for the remaining 30,000 students in the shortest possible time, U Thant Min, principle of central training school under the Department of the Ministry of Education and Training said.
Hong Kong based Industry Development Company is also has recently established itself as the first label and hang tag factory in Myanmar for international garment products.
That is one of several garment accessories and inputs manufacturers which have recently been setting-up in the country. Other new investments include a hanger factory operated by MHL and several carton box and polybag factories.
In previous times, all inputs for garment production in Myanmar were imported from abroad but this is quickly starting to change as the garment industry in Myanmar grows.

The program helps participants into work in good factories after providing proper training in the use of modern automatic sewing machine equipment. The training program lasts for two weeks and also provide them with the materials and allowances to cover transport, accommodation and other necessary daily needs, U Thant Min said.
"Factories of clothing have expressed the need for thousands of workers. The basic clothing and specialized workers from around the country will be trained in the use of modern equipment and then transferred to the workplace since then," he added. The person in Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association authorities also said that we will do everything possible to support the development of textile workers.
