Treatment and medications used for Alzheimer and Schizophrenia

As the person ages there are several problems and diseases they need to encounter, but there are certain diseases that do not wait for age to come as well. Alzheimer is a disease that comes to a person when they are in there mid forties or fifties or some come during very old age. It deals with the damage of the memory area of the brain. The person dealing with Alzheimer tends to forget most of the things he does within seconds. Schizophrenia is a disease that does not wait for the person to age.

This disease comes due the surrounding of the person. The person loses touch of reality and feels that he is drifted away from practicality. This disease affects the person’s thinking; how he feels, thinks and deals with his environment. The Alzheimer disease is one that is very hazardous as it turns bad, people may lead to depression, and in worst cases they lose touch with their relatives forever. Treatment for schizophrenia has several stages so as well; the following are the symptoms of schizophrenia:

Symptoms that is not generally visible in normal people, such as psychotic behaviors of losing touch with reality:

  • Hallucinations
  • Illusions and delusions
  • Flat affect – reduced expressions and emotions of the person, lack of facial expressions and voice tone
  • Reduced speaking and difficulty in sustaining activities.

The following are several ways for the treatment for Schizophrenia:

  • Antipsychotic medications: These medications are taken in the form of pills or liquid medicines. There are injections for the treatment as well that need to be taken twice a month. These medications may have some side effects but they go away in some days.
  • Psychosocial treatment: These treatments include medications based on challenges and goals given to the schizophrenic, in order to brush off their skills of abnormality. These medications may include Placebo- controlled study medications or Open label medication.

Alzheimer’s is a disease that deals with the memory of the person. The person often tends to forget what he is doing, what has he done, and what he is supposed to do. The case might worsen up if the treatment is ignored. There are different types of Alzheimer disease; autism, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, all come under the category of Alzheimer disease. The symptoms of the disease are as follows:

  • Memory loss every now and then
  • Problems in planning and solving problems
  • Confusion with time and place, they often forget where they are and what is the time
  • Trouble understanding images

Treatments for the Alzheimer disease are as follows;

  • Medications and pills in order to treat the patient. The person needs time and proper medications for their treatment. Pills like Memantine, Aricept, Razadyne are used for the early and late stages of Alzheimer.
  • Placebo-Controlled study medication, Active Controlled medication and Open Label Medication are some of the main treatments given to patients dealing with the disease of Alzheimer.
