Protect the Fleet
Posted: Feb 22, 2016
As you well know, your Fleet is viewed by the public everyday, they are rolling billboards for your company. The time and expense of maintaining a good looking Fleet is continually rising, where do you find the fine line between investment of time and money, and the value of your return on that investment.
Fading with time and use is unavoidable. However, with proper care and maintenance, you can greatly enhance the life span of the paint to last for years to come.
The Commandments
- The biggest enemy of Fleet vehicle paint is the harsh sunlight. Can your Fleet avoid the sunlight? Not any Fleet vehicles that are making you money. So, how do you protect your vehicles from the sunlight? Cost-effective color maintenance, that is how.
In the colder months, sunlight may not affect your Fleet. However, salt and snow also play a role in the fading away of the vehicle’s paint. So, it is essential to protect your entire Fleet all around the year. If you do not have a garage, but you want your paint jobs to remain sparkling for years to come, then make a small investment in cost-effective color maintenance.
- Grime and dust are other unavoidable nuisances. Grime and dust when left unaddressed stick onto the vehicle’s top coat and ruin it. This top coat is what protects the paint from dust, sun rays and other harsh weather conditions. It is your vehicle’s sunscreen.
So, protect this top coat by keeping the vehicle's free from dust, through regular cleaning and color maintenance.
- Another way to prevent your top coat from fading away is waxing. Although the top coat protects the vehicle from damage, waxing provides further protection for the top coat and also shields the vehicle against adverse weather conditions. Waxing provides a polished surface on the paint, which protects the paint from sticking of dust. What’s more, it also adds the sparkle to the paint, which is lost faster than you can imagine.
