We had gone through our first part series on the tech unveiled at the Mobile World Congress. Here’s the next part of the series. Enjoy this one.

Epson Moverio BT-300 Smart Glasses

Many companies like Google have stopped their augmented reality programs, despite top executives like Sergey Brin wearing the device at every event and conference. For example, Google Glass was discontinued as the company looks to find a new direction in augmented reality. However, Epson has released their latest Moverio BT-300 augmented reality glasses at the MWC after launching the BT-100 in 2012 and the BT-200 in 2014.

Epson says the device is 20% lighter than the BT-200 and has a 0.43-inch Silicon OLED HD display with a resolution of 1280x720, a 5MP camera, and is powered by a Quad-Core Intel Atom X5 SoC processor running Android Lollipop. Priced at $799, the company plans to ship the device later in 2016.

Augmented reality can be a tremendous help to doctors and nurses who need to visualize a person’s inner biological structure for medical needs. For example, finding veins and AR-assisted surgeries are not far away in the future.

Samsung Gear 360

Many future technologists believe virtual reality is the future of the internet. From internet videos to advertisements, VR is going to take over how we view digital media and completely immerse ourselves in the experience. A major issue for an average user is recording 360 degree videos. Now, Samsung has the answer.

With many parts of the event being showcased using the device, Samsung announced the launch of the Gear 360 VR camera. It is in the shape of a ball and has a 15 MP sensor with an f/2.0 fisheye lens capable of capturing 30 MP photos and 3840x1920 360 degree videos. One could also pair the camera with a Samsung smartphone to preview recordings and share the videos on the internet.

The device weighs 153g, comes with a tripod mount, a time-lapse feature, microSD card slot, 1350 mAh Li-on battery, WiFi and a 0.5 inch PMOLED display. It will be released in Q2 2016.

Xperia Ear, Xperia Eye and Xperia Projector

Sony unleashed their gadgets at the MWC which included 3 Xperia smartphones, the Xperia Ear, Xperia Eye and Xperia Projector.

A wireless earpiece that informs the user about the weather, news and schedule, the Xperia Ear actually responds to spoken commands by the user and connects to Android through NFC and Bluetooth. To be released in the summer of 2016. The Xperia Eye is a camera that is attached to a user’s clothes or can be worn like a necklace. It sports a wide-angle lens camera that uses smart lens shutter technology for voice and facial detection. The Xperia Projector allows any screen to be projected on a wall or surface, and can be interacted with using gestures or voice commands.
