Cambridge Medicine University Summer School is an ideal programme for those aspiring to study medicine at the university level. The seminars and tutorials introduce the participants to topics in medicine studied at the undergraduate level. Other advanced topics and debates spur the students’ intellectual curiosity.

The programme gives student a great experience of the university life by giving them insights into what to expect of an undergraduate course. The participants can expect to study topics such as medical biology, anatomy to ethics and anatomy. There are various extracurricular activities to prepare the students for university life. The maximum class size is ten students.

The programme is unique because it offers skills workshops which include Interview Workshops, Personal Statement Workshops and The BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT) Workshops. The Interviews Workshops give the students insights into the important skills required of one to successfully perform at interview when under pressure. They are intended to develop the participants’ confidence and intellectual tenacity which helps them to tackle some key questions which they might be asked in an interview. The workshops also address the debates which surround some of the most pertinent current issues within the discipline.

The Personal Statements Workshops give students an opportunity to draft their personal statements required to access to universities around the globe. The participants are taught the techniques required to incisively show their interest in a certain discipline.

The BMAT Test Workshops review the BMAT. BMAT is the test used to assess the suitability of students for medical courses at Oxford University and Cambridge universities among others. The aim of the workshop is to equip the participants with the relevant skills for the Aptitude and Skills section (Critical Thinking, Logic and Reasoning). The workshop also helps them prepare for the Writing Task and Scientific Knowledge and Applications.
