Many a time vintage and antique cars are used interchangeably. However there is a thin line difference between the two. Any car which is old and dates back to the 1930s, and before is referred as an antique. However vintage cars are considered to be a narrower concept than the antiques. The cars which were produced in the age after the World War II i.e. from 1920 to the 1930s are termed as vintage.

In the year 1910 the number of car companies that were manufacturing vehicles was 500 however by the time the Great Depression swept in in the 1929 only 60 of the companies survived the economic pressure. 12 years later from the Great Depression only 20 or even less of these automobile manufacturers were operational.

These cars are extremely valuable both in sentimental as well as monetary terms. It is hard to own a vintage car from the World War era but you sure can enjoy glimpses of them at automobile museums and exhibitions.
