Success is all when opportunity meets preparations and when it comes to auditions- the statement holds true more than anything. It is vital to remember that an audition is nothing less your job interview. It is the right opportunity to show how well prepared you are. There are numerous factors that can affect the outcomes of your results. Here are top 5 things that you must not do during your auditions in acting.

  • Saying- "Can I do it again?"

While it is very normal to ask for a second chance during acting auditions but accepting and explaining that you have made mistake, messed it up etc. is a big blunder. It is very common to forget dialogs, stumbleupon words, lose the place etc during auditions but it is important to know that the directors are not concerned over script but more on how you are portraying the character. Give the performance and that’s it!

  • Get so much nervous that it is visible during performance

Behaving like an amateur and screaming the dialogs or phrases is just a big no. It dictates your nervous apprehensions and by screaming you are just vocalizing your nervousness. Some of the great ideas to eliminate the nervousness is deep breathing, exercises, focusing on other things, use MP3 or others.

  • Finishing up and Notifying the same

When you are done with your audition, do not yell at the casting panel that you are done or you have nothing else to show. Give a professional moment ending. A few moments of silence and a slight nod to the director or the judge is more than enough. Or you can try to stay in character and point out the ending by saying Thank you or Stop!

  • Reaching Late

DO not waste your time and others as well. No one cares if you were struck in traffic or unable to find the parking space. By stating such excuses you are just going to waste their time and interrupting the directors as well. If you get late due to any random reason then relax, calm and take a deep breath. If you are lectured on being late then take it as a complement and lesson! Refocus on audition right the next moment and remember "If you're early, you're on time. If you're on time, you're late!"

  • Asking them how it was?

Only a newbie will ask such a question. Pretend you are experienced and never ask the directors on how you did or what they think of your performance. They just want their job to be done in any ways. If they provide a feedback, hear it carefully and take it as an advice for further auditions. Everything you do in an audition room and performance is noticed, so beware and behave!
