The beginning of the 19th Century is marked by the re-introduction of the plastic surgery. However, in the beginning decades, it is used only for the reconstructive purpose. Soon, common people and doctors began to realize the great potential in the field of reconstructive procedures. Slowly, but firmly the field evolved into cosmetic surgery, where people suffering from the irregular or ugly features are treated with surgical procedures removing their ugly features. Suitable changes are made so that the person appears beautiful with pleasant facial features. The early surgeries conducted in the field of cosmetic surgery are nose surgeries.

Nose surgery is popularly known as Rhinoplasty in medical terms. The overall surgery performed on an injured man by name Walter Yeo, who is an English sailor during the WW-I. He is known to be the first person who got reconstructive surgery and the modern history of cosmetic surgery probably marked its beginning with his cosmetic surgery. Nose Surgery in Korea has a Significant place, since it is one of the most commonly performed surgeries across the Asian countries. It is the demography that helps the surgeons thrive in this business as most of the Asians suffer from wide nose, which spoils the entire facial contours of the face.

The origin of Nose surgery: Why nose surgery has been developed in the beginning? When there are so many other features that are ugly spoiling the total beauty of facial contours what the need to develop the nose surgery is? Well! There is an important reason for it. History students I think are well aware of the answer to this one. Defeated Soldiers are left free with their nose severed so that they can lead a shameful life in future indicating their defeat by the enemy soldiers. To hide their severed nose these soldiers use to take shelter under expert surgeons who are experts in the reconstruction of their nose. The origins of the nose surgery date back centuries. In ancient India, Ayurvedic doctor by name Shushruta conducted extensive surgeries to regain the faces of those soldiers who lived like cadavers due to shameful appearance. To bring back life into their lives he performed Rhinoplasty and filled their lives with hope and the desire to live and lead a good, happy and peaceful life. Later on the art of Rhinoplasty or nose surgery spread all over the globe through the Greeks.

These surgeries are mentioned in the books written by Shushruta (Epics) popularly known as "Sushrutha Samhita". Elaborate methods are explained along the pre-operative preparations and post operative care and attention. It is a wonderful science and one will become awestruck that the Medicine has reached such a culmination point in ancient India.

Apart from this there are other reasons due to which nose falls down. The medical reasons are aplenty for this and require a thorough medical investigation before treating patients with nose surgery, that is to say corrective surgery or a Rhinoplasty. Cosmetic surgery is performed on a healthier patient who should follow all the medical procedures and a thorough checkup.
