Since its origin in 1930, acrylic has captured the market and became the first choice of the interior designers. Unique properties and extra strength make it an ideal alternative to glass. This material is less thick and has greater impact strength thus is quite strong. That is why not only furniture, but Acrylic sculpture is also highly in demand. Although, it looks same as glass as being transparent in nature, but it does not shatter easily. This feature makes it quite useful for home decor.

The furnishing makers, whether on professional or residential level, integrate acrylic into their designs to give the ordinary objects an outstanding and eye-catching look. When it comes to acrylic furniture, a sofa or a chair accented with acrylic legs or armrests looks completely new and ultramodern. In order to enhance the durability of the furnishings the manufacturers use variety of scratch-resistant coatings.

The most attractive aspect of acrylic artistic use is the use of acrylic's light transmitting capacity, which is more than that of ordinary glass. Artistically created acrylic art forms seem jewel-like under both natural and artificial light. Acrylic sculptor has taken a great advantage of this material's flexibility and its correlation with light to manufacture marvelous pieces. These pieces are ideal displays even in the places outside the art galleries especially at homes and offices. These sculptures are available in variety of designs and vibrant colors.

These art pieces are the most imaginative forms varying from recognizable fun shapes like fish, flowers those are weightless to the quite heavy masterpieces. More visual effects can be created by displaying a sculpture made of acrylic on pedestal. Thus, the pedestal becomes an art form in itself. The acrylic enthusiasts integrate special lighting techniques to highlight unique characteristics of their master piece and add uniqueness in it.

The technique of making the sculpture depends on the design. Most of the designs are created by pouring molten acrylic into a mold. The molten acrylic remains in the mold until it becomes stiff. The art piece is then treated under required heat and pressure in order to make it hard and crystal clear as well. After the completion of the procedure, piece is cooled and then taken out of the mold and finished by using files and grinders. The carving is given an icy appearance by blasting the surface with glass powder. To get the smooth surfaces, it is polished with buffing wheels as well as jeweller’s rouge according to the requirement.

After this these pieces come in to the market and people use to buy these for their home decoration.
