A Fresh Perspective to Spring Cleaning
Posted: Mar 10, 2016
In the United Kingdom we have a National Spring Cleaning week which takes place in March, during the fourth week. Every year the Spring cleaning inspires people to engage in domestic habits and rituals they have never had. It brings the sensation of opening the windows wide and letting fresh air in after a long, cold winter. Sweeping away the dust and throwing out the old belongings to make room for the new one. And all this with the idea of a fresh start once again.
It creates quite the fuss with all the checklists we create, tips and books we read just to prepare for this big cleaning. However, sometimes it looks like we are more talking about it, than actually doing it. For some people it is an unachievable goal.
Plan-Based CleaningYou need to plan all the cleaning and decluttering to the final step so that everything goes smoothly. And here is the main problem, we have so many and different demands with the beginning of each new day, that planning a spring cleaning looks so impossible and time consuming that we just want to spare it and enjoy our free time, resting from all the responsibilities and avoiding creating a new and surely a big one.
Rearrange Your NeedsHaving to consider all the time and efforts you have to invest it is absolutely normal to want to sweep our cleaning plans under the carpet. Our capacity is not infinite and the belief that we can do it all, have it all at the same time is just making us overflow with much more commitments we won’t fulfill. And that’s understandable, many households have fast-paced lives and surely they want to spend their free time with their children and presumably a pet. Just imagine the idyllic picture of a mother with her two children and a dog how many tasks they create alone, but having to put even more in your plate with this big spring cleaning will bring us into a state of disarray.
Old BelievesPeople have to understand that Spring cleaning is more than vacuuming the floors and sweep away the cobwebs. It is an experience that makes us feel really happy at home, to feel safe and right in your skin, it is a state of proper belongingness. Being overwhelmed with the hefty tasks that are expecting your attention one may lose his sense of focus and purpose. Maintaining the cleanliness and healthy environment in your home can’t always be achieved with the ordinary day-to-day cleaning. They may be not noticeable, but all the small things you leave undone can create a breeding ground for bacteria.
Set a New BeginningHaving a system can come in handy when you want to avoid nervous breakdowns. Or maybe hiring a housekeeper to tackle this deep cleaning of your home is your way to deal with the tedious tasks. Even a thorough one time cleaning can sufficiently revive your home. This cleaning marathon it’s not only daunting if you haven’t had the chance to plan it well, but also overwhelm us with the circumstances and drains out our time and emotions. Sometimes the biggest happiness is when someone else does this stressful cleaning for you.
