The Delhi government might have lifted thousand out of the poverty with varied campaigns and schemes but improvement in healthcare has been slow and tardy. And government wishes to resolve out all those issues in Smart city L zone Plan.

Indians suffer from poor health and the country does not have sufficient medical facilities to serve the vast population. A key reason behind the poor health of the average Indian is the low level of public investments in preventive health facilities such as sanitation and waste management, as well as in medical care facilities such as primary health centers and health professionals.

Talking about the country’s capital city itself, Delhi though have grown economically but remains poor when it comes to provision of healthcare infrastructure. The Delhi government might have lifted thousand out of the poverty with varied campaigns and schemes but improvement in healthcare has been slow.

Some of the commonly faced healthcares problems in Delhi that the government wishes to remove in Smart city L zone development are:-

  • Unavailability of Doctors and Nurses: A recently conducted survey suggests that Delhi has just one doctor for every 1700 people. This disastrous gap is not less than a nightmare for the residents. Scarcity of doctors causes treatments to get delayed and is a severe risk to lives that can be saved during an emergency.
  • Poor Public Health Systems: Expenditure on health by the government remains to be low. Better access to food and health still remains to be a dream and government’s financial crunch over the year poses as the main hindrance in uplifting the medical infrastructure in the city.
  • Out Of Pocket Expenditure: The public medical facilities are so inefficiently maintained that the low income grouped have to seek for private medical care assistances that burn a hole in their pocket. The affordability of the medical expenses is not bearable by the people and a lot of deaths cause due to the same reason which is apathy in itself. Greater access can only be made feasible by establishing crucial investments in the health sector.
  • Over Burdened By Increasing Population: The Government in Delhi faces the stern problem of population explosion. The urban settlement is so severely overcrowded that to achieving medical facilities at affordable pricing seems blurry. Over population and relatively rising health problems due to congestion, poor administration and improper waste management has leaded the capital to a horrific state of negligence.

The government ought to resolve all medical related problems in its upcoming Smart City project powered by thoughtful execution planning and layout where government is focusing on other areas apart from 4 BHK Flat in L Zone.

Huge investments are also being made in financing medical infrastructure so that the residents are fully equipped and protected in case of an emergency. Policy makers are incorporating several innovations and modern technologies to make things easy and affordable at the same time. There will be deep inclination towards maintenance and administration of the world class infrastructure and due attention will be paid in case of any shortage or deficiency.
