It also makes the items much safer when moving house at longer distance. There are so many other advantages of the well-packed objects and they all are about the safety, about the ease of handling, about the saving of more space, time, and more. Check out some of the main types of packing opts and take a pick of the best ones for your belongings.
The cardboard boxes are always high on the list. They are the most preferred method for storing different types of items and they give that strength that no other material can provide. For instance, let`s take the smallest cardboard boxes. Ask your removal company whether they offer rental or recycling boxes. This may reduce from the total cost of your relocation, while making everything much easier for handling in the meantime. The small removal boxes measure some 50cm x 30cm and are as tall as 20cm. Yet you can find boxes of almost every size, but these small boxes are very useful in most of the cases. They can fit a vast array of objects - from small decorative items to glasses and clothes. According to the thickness of the cardboard at the bottom, you can fill a normal small box for some truly heavy items, such as books or dishes.
The larger cardboard boxes range from 50cm x 50cm and are as tall too. They`re made from more durable materials such as dual or triple-ply cardboard, which gives the rigidity of handling two, three or more dismantled furnishings in just one box. Some boxes have a plastic sheet on the bottom and reinforced handles to make the handling of these heavy objects even safer and easier. The medium sized boxes can be handled by one, but also by two. Others have special handles allowing for handling from the corners. These boxes can be lifted and handled with handling straps. Your items will always be safe inside these boxes, even if you plan to pile two or three boxes on top of each other.
The large or the extra-large cardboard boxes are as large as a wardrobe. They can really store full-size clothes on hangers and even whole pieces of furniture. What better way to organize your furniture removals, than renting a couple of extra-large boxes to use them as portable containers!
The old boxes of electronic devices can easily become handy, especially if you are hoarding boxes in the cellar with years. Another great tip is to protect your items in plastic boxes. The transparency gives you the advantage to check out easily the condition of the objects in the transparent box.
Protect your possessions with plastic bags, bubble wraps and other plastic covers. One, this is the easiest way to protect furnishings from dirt and dust without the need for dismantling, and two - this is the best way to protect electronic devices from water, rain and snow.
Get yourself the needed packing accessories such as a normal tape, paper tape and heavy-duty tape. Scissors and labels are also high on the list. A gliding blanket might be required for the arrangement, while a rope might be useful to secure the big heavy boxes in the moving van.
