Luxury orangeries can be considered a more permanent extension to your property than oak framed conservatories, although both styles offer flexibility with regards to how they can be used. While orangeries are still considered beneficial for use as a run room, essentially made for relaxing and enjoying a naturally lit view out over the garden, they can also have a number of other beneficial uses.

Kitchen

The natural light and the large open space that can be provided with the introduction of luxury orangeries makes the space ideal for use as a new kitchen area. In the modern home, the kitchen is more than somewhere to prepare meals, often used to dine, to entertain, and to catch up with the family. Designing your next extension around what has become the hub of the home means that you can enjoy a stunning addition to your property.

Dining Area

While the kitchen may have become popular as a place to eat and to entertain visitors, the more traditional property owner will use a dining room. An orangery offers natural light, warmth throughout the year, and a potentially relaxing environment that can be filled with natural plants, furniture made from natural materials, and bright coloured décor. Orangeries and oak conservatories are ideal for use as a dining area, especially when designed as an open plan addition to the ground floor of your property.

Swimming Pool

The British weather means that adding a swimming pool to a property requires that it be an indoor pool, but very few homeowners have enough space to install a lap pool, let alone a full size pool. An orangery extension, or even a traditional orangery which would separate from the main house, can be heated and, depending on planning permission requirements and external space, can be designed so that it is large enough to house any type of pool. Large doors and a glazed, opening roof, enable you to open the pool up to the sun during the warmer, summer months, too.

Home Office

With more and more people working from home, or taking their work home with them in the evening, finding a convenient and comfortable space in which to work has become more important than ever. Whereas cramming your office space into the spare room may be inconvenient and uncomfortable, it is possible to design luxury orangeries around your office requirements – enjoy comfort and space, as well as somewhere convenient to complete your work.
