5 Indian Women on the Forbes Richest Billionaires in the World List

Do you know that five Indian women have been included in the Forbes List of the richest people in the world? The list of Forbes included 190 women billionaires, which means approximately 10 percent of the total richest people count.

According to the online financial news from Asia Pacific region, the number of women in the global rich list declined. In the year 2015 out of 1810 billionaires, there were 197 billionaire women in the world, but in 2016 it reduced down to 190. The women signify just a small percentage of the richest people in the world, a mere little more than 10 percent.

Indu Jain

The net worth of the lady who chairs media corporation Bennett, Coleman and Co, Indu Jain stood at 3.1 billion. She was ranked 549th among the world’s richest billionaire.

Leena Tiwari

Leena Tiwari, the low profile heiress appeared first time on the Forbes billionaires list. She privately owns and chairs Indian generics maker USV, which is renowned for manufacturing drugs for cardiovascular diseases and diabetes, among various others. With a net worth of $1.7 billion, she appeared on the 1067th position on the list.

Smita Crishna

Another Indian woman on the list is Smita Crishna Godrej with a net worth of $2.2 billion. She is ranked 810th on the list of the richest billionaires in the world. She has debuted on the billionaires list via acquiring one-fifth stake in the family estates.

Savitri Jindal

On the list, with a net worth of $3.5 billion, Savitri Jindal and family ranked in the 453rd place on the Forbes List. According to the Forbes report on Jindal, the fortune of Savitri Jindal has reduced by approximately $10 bullion. This is a result of the decreasing share values of her group of companies.

Vinod Gupta

According to the online financial news from Asia Pacific region, the wife of Qimat Rai Gupta, Vinod Gupta inherited the shares of her husband in Havells India, a highly reputed electrical firm. Even though she does not hold a board or executive position, her net worth is $1.1 billion and ranked 1577 on the Forbes list.

When we talk about the global level, Liliane Bettencourt and her children, the owner of L’Oreal was positioned 11th on the richest billionaires across the world. She topped the richest women list with net worth of $36.1 billion. Alice Walton followed Liliane Betterncourt with assets worth $32.3 billion and 16th rank among the list. Jacqueline Mars appeared third in the list of the world’s richest women and 27th among the richest billionaires in the world with net worth of $23.4 billion.
