1. Limit the No. of Links with Anchor Texts

We have all learned that ranks better with more number of rich anchor text links. This means that your website should get ranked quickly if there are more links to your website rich in anchor texts. For example, I want my site to rank for the search term: "USA SEO services". In this case, I should want other websites with anchor texts: "USA SEO services" to link my site. (Note: The anchor texts should be USA SEO services, not my website name).

However, there has to be a limit to the number of rich anchor text links. Limit the no. of links that contain the keywords, and limit the no. of keywords in the content that are anchor texts for the links. If there are excessive amount of rich anchor text links, it’s treated as unnatural linking strategy and rankings drop drastically.

2. Build and Distribute Links to Inner Pages

Home page is important to link to, but don’t ignore inner pages. Search engines, especially Google, evaluate the website as a whole when ranking all its pages. This is why when there are links to your inner pages, the ranking of those pages boost and so does of your home page.

3. Go Slow and Steady

More is merrier for the ideal world, but not for Google especially when it comes to no. of back-links. Make your basics clear that it’s not how many links you’ve built to your website, rather how many quality links you’ve built. You may have thought to build 100,000 links by next month, but what if your pages have not enough content to go with that many links? This is why content and links must be built at the same time.

4. Put Emphasis on Title Tags and Meta Descriptions

Title tags and Meta descriptions are vitally important ranking factors. Create unique title tags for every page and write each in about 60 characters. Similarly, add unique and attractive meta descriptions, each of which describing the content on the respective pages. Don’t add your website name to every meta description because it would be considered as duplicate. Don’t just stuff title and meta description tags with keywords.
