Many people are able to have an alcoholic beverage occasionally without having to worry about being addicted. There are even people who spend a lot of time going to parties and getting drunk, but that doesn’t mean there are addicted. So how do you know when you are addicted to a substance? Sometimes, it’s hard for the individual to see that he or she is addicted to something. Perhaps your family members or close friends have begun to express concerns about your health. You may have been denying a problem, but now you aren’t so sure. If you are suffering from an addiction, then it may be time for rehab. There are Christian alcohol rehab centers that can help you overcome your addiction and take your life back. Here are some signs you are addicted to alcohol.

Think about how important alcohol is to you. If you missed a night of drinking, would it bother you? Do you feel like you can’t get through the day without having a drink? You may think you are just drinking socially or drinking to take the edge off, but it doesn’t take long before this can become a problem. If you value your alcohol more than you value your time with family, work, or other important aspects of your life, then you may be an alcoholic.

How do you feel when you haven’t had a drink for a few days? Do you feel ill and like you can’t do anything until you have had a drink? How do you feel when you do start drinking? Many people may find that they feel more relaxed and happier once they have a couple of drinks in their system. However, if you are relying on alcohol for these feelings, then you may be dealing with an alcohol addiction. Calling one of the Christian alcohol rehab centers can help you get your life back if this is happening to you.

If someone were to approach you and ask you to give up alcohol, do you think you could do it? There’s a difference between not wanting to do it and actually feeling like you physically cannot do it. If the latter statement is something you feel you relate to, then you may be addicted. Your body can develop a physical dependency to alcohol, so it’s not all in your head.
