When was the last time you curled up on the couch with a steaming cup of tea and a good book?

According to a University research, only 36% of adults read for pleasure everyday. You know why you should read?

1. A minimum of 6 minutes of reading is known to reduce stress by two-thirds
2. Fiction-reading increases empathy
3. Reading increases brain activity

But where do we find time to read. With lesson plans, preparations, and tests, we hardly get time to read for pleasure. Here is what you can do to add reading into your daily routine:

1. Set a Page Target: Decide how many pages you’d have to read to finish the book in a week. And ensure that you accomplish the target. Get into bed 30 minutes earlier and finish reading those pages.
2. Carry your book: Who knows, you might just have some spare time in between class to catch up on the lost time.
3. Give yourself homework: You’ve got to discipline yourself if you want to discipline children. Give yourself work and follow it diligently.
4. Don’t multitask: If you’re reading online, just read. Don’t allow the Internet to distract you.
5. Read what you love: It doesn’t make sense picking up anything just because you must read. Find out what you like reading about, and give yourself the book accordingly.
