Food is an integral part of our life. Without food, there is no ‘US’. Certain nations in the world are facing a shortage of food and children are suffering from malnutrition. You might not be helping them directly, but by saving food or not wasting food, you are indirectly providing a helping hand towards the less fortunate. In a way you are acknowledging the farmers and the effort behind a mouthful of taste. If you have cooked more than what is required in a certain batch and want to save up the food from going stale, fuji-sotex has got the solution for you. With the advent of technology, heat sealers have made way into our lives. Also known as impulse sealer, these are food sealers that are of a huge help in the packaging industry. These food sealers vary in size and configuration according to the requirement. A heat sealer is a machine used to seal products, packaging, and other thermoplastic materials using heat. This can be with uniform thermoplastic monolayers or with materials having several layers, at least one being thermoplastic. Heat sealing can join two similar materials together or can join dissimilar materials, one of which has a thermoplastic layer. Impulse sealers have heating elements (one or two) of Nichrome placed between a resilient synthetic rubber and a release surface of the film or fabric. The heating elements are not continuously heated; heat is generated only when current flows. When the materials are placed in the heat sealer, they are held in place by pressure. An electric current heats the heating element for a specified time to create the required temperature. The Jaws hold the material in place after the heat is stopped, sometimes with cooling water: this allows the material to fuse before stress can be applied.

There are various types of impulse sealers like the tabletop sealer, semi-automatic, foot operated, vacuum sealers, gas flush and long size impulse. All these have different configurations and varied uses. The packaging can be done at home at a small level and can go up to factories for big sealings. Heat sealers are good options for sealing but impulse sealers are better in many ways. Impulse sealer needs no warm-up period after turning on whereas the constant heat sealer needs time for the hot bar to heat up. Impulse sealer has less risk of being injured as no components are always hot, but on the other hand, constant heat sealer keeps the sealing area constantly hot, hence increasing the risk of touching the hot bar accidentally. Impulse sealer creates a seal with a clean slate as the cooling and fusion takes place under pressure, but the constant heat sealer merely provides heat, leaving cooling and fusing process to take place while the packaging material is shrinking. This often results in a rather uneven finishing. Though the impulse sealer proves out to be better when considered a small scale of packaging, the constant heat sealer is more useful when taking big industries into consideration. Named after Mt. Fuji -Japan’s tallest mountain, Fuji-sotex is an Illinois based company that expertises in the sale of impulse sealers as well as constant heat sealers. They sell all kinds of impulse sealer like the tabletop sealer which is the best sealer for small scale packaging. The best selling tabletop sealer is the FS series sealers. This remarkable food sealer machine allows even small shops to re-bag bulk commodities into virtually any sized package desired. Easily operated and maintained, the FS-215 and FS-315 Shop Sealers handle a wide range of commercial films. For a basic food packaging shop, food sealers like the FS series sealers prove to be effective in both work and finance. The main features of this food sealer are as such- Package films can be sealed easily, only a slight pressure is needed for a strong sealing and sealing pressure can be adjusted for optimum sealing. The best part is compact, light and portable and the electronic timer controls sealing temperature. The prices differ according to the power consumption and sealing and machine dimensions. At Fuji Impulse, in order to realize high-precision sealing and add more value to the sealer, they are promoting equipping the sealers with a special added function and to make it a standard. That function is "ONPUL." This is where Fuji Impulse sealers are different. Onpul Sealer controls heating temperature by directly measuring the heater temperature using a low-pro file temperature sensor that comes in contact with the heater. It is economical and you can set the heating temperature. The biggest feature of the ONPUL Sealer is the ability to set the ideal sealing condition. The heating temperature is set by controlling the temperature through the use of a high-sensitivity temperature sensor and by microcomputer-control. The heating process can thus be completed on the film-melting temperature without being affected by an increase in the air temperature or machine temperature. The packaging industry had its fair share of development with the advent of impulse sealer as they reduced the risk of accidents that were prevalent in case of constant heat sealers. Now fuji-sotex have taken another step towards the future as they have introduced the ONPUL function in sealers and planning to make it a standard in all coming impulse sealers as well heat sealers.

Fuji- sotex also manufacture vacuum sealers that are inevitably the best food sealers available in the market as they help in vacuum packing. Vacuum packing is a method of packaging that removes air from the package prior to sealing. This method involves (manually or automatically) placing items in a plastic film package, removing air from inside, and sealing the package. Shrink film is sometimes used to have a tight fit to the contents. The intent of vacuum packing is usually to remove oxygen from the container to extend the shelf life of foods and, with flexible package forms, to reduce the volume of the contents and package. Vacuum packing reduces atmospheric oxygen, limiting the growth of aerobic bacteria or fungi, and preventing the evaporation of volatile components. It is also commonly used to store dry foods over a long period of time, such as cereals, nuts, cured meats, cheese, smoked fish, coffee, and potato chips. On a short term basis, vacuum packing can also be used to store fresh foods, such as vegetables, meats, and liquids, because it inhibits bacterial growth. All these merits make the vacuum sealer one of the best food sealers to be ever available. External vacuum sealers involve a bag being attached to the vacuum-sealing machine externally. The machine will remove the air and seal the bag, which is all done outside the machine. A heat sealer is often used to seal the pack.
