The most extensively used metamorphic rock if formed when limestone is heated and pressurized over thousands of years in the earth crust. Over the period of time, this stone has become one of the most desired stone which provides uniqueness to the architecture. Legendary monuments and architectures were predominantly structured and decorated with this metal stone.Marble has been conventionally and extensively used as a superior substitute to wooden furniture, counterparts, countertops, floorings, tables, tiles, fireplaces and windows.Properties, the stone exhibits:-The crystalline stone is hard and dense enough to make a distinguished appearance. The texture is clear from at any stains or cracks and possess uniform colours. The geomorphology standardises the stone with a less than 0.4% moisture absorbance by weight.The blocks of marbles are cut down into slabs and files which are further used for assorted flooring designs, staircases, countertops and else where.Marble is one the most durable building stone which can withstand almost any climate and weather condition.Polishing:-The stone once extracted from the crust can be used directly and has to be treated and finished. The polishing of the stone can be done in three ways:-1. Abrasive Finishing- The most extensively used finished marble which is usually non reflective and used for exterior uses. The grainy finish is much popular and is much cheaper compared to the smoother finished marbles.2. Polish Finished MarblesThe glossy finished marble with assorted colours and textures is recommended for interior works.3. Hone FinishingThis is the most expensive finishing with distinct utility. The marble has no glass finish and the texture is velvety smooth.The marble stones are categorized in to two types, popularly:-1. Pure White Marble2. Assorted coloured and textured marbles There are over 3000 kinds of marble stones. In India, Rajasthan is the leading producer of marble stones with Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh as major producers in the country. Some of the world famous varieties of Indian extracted marbles are enlisted:-Makarana Marble:- The most popular marble extracted in the country with sub varieties like Kumhari, Doongri and many others.Rajnagar Marble- It is the most extensively produced marble in India centred in the nearby towns of Kinshangarh in Rajasthan with sub varieties like Agaria, Dolomitic and Quartz.Andhi Marble- This variety of marble is mostly produced in the region near the district of Jaipur in Rajasthan. This variety is also known as the Indo- Italian marble with its resemblance to the famous statuario Marble.Katni Marbles- The infamous Indian variety which is a substitute of Italian marble. There are a number of Katni Marble Suppliers in the country.Other varieties like Amba Ji marble and Baroda Green marble are also widely used in the country and exported as well.
