Build Your Own Bathroom Furniture

Posted: Apr 12, 2016
Give your outdated washroom a bathroom makeover with these simple home renovation ideas. Your bathroom space will have a whole new look and feel. And do experiment as much as you like as long as you get it right at the end. And right means that you like it best – after all, it is your bathroom. Don’t worry about creating waste while doing it – there will always be cleaning companies around for the home cleaning and cleaners for the job.
1. Vanity desk
If you have an old desk lying around, you can easily transform it into a vanity. Cut the back portion of the desk, back legs included. This will create a vanity with two legs that can be secured to the wall. Cut a strip from the cut portion of the desk to use as a simple back splash directly above the vanity. You can even paint the cut table for a splash of color.
2. Ceramic sink
If you want a different look than your everyday sink, take a beautiful, large ceramic bowl to a granite shop and ask them to drill a hole for the drain, then attach the proper plumbing fittings. Remember to find a proper cleaner for the sink so that you can keep it clean and healthy to use all the time.
3. DIY storage
Build a frame of your size using the length and color of wood of your choice. Choose the length of your shelves. Keep it open or add a door, then secure it to the wall. Who does not like to add their own choice of storage design?
4. Basket storage
Find or create baskets of your choice. Attach hooks to the wall. You can add three in a row vertically or horizontally in an empty space in your bathroom. Make the most of your wall space by hooking the baskets to the wall. You just added extra storage in a simple and pretty way.
5. Door shelf
Create a shelf design of your choice using wood from your local hardware store. You can find wood in the clearance bin, which is sometimes even free as it has been discarded from people who have made custom cuts and hang it above your door frame, a space that is often unused. Store decorative pieces or items that you do not need often.
And after you are done with the furniture, do a thorough cleaning. Don’t forget about upholstery cleaning and be sure to touch all sides of the furniture. You need to be thorough and you want to be ready for everything. Keep an eye for the furniture and make sure it’s not damaged because of the usual humidity created in the bathroom.
