9 Tips on Preparing for SAT

SAT is the exam that aspirants need to clear for pursuing under graduation in the United States. The SAT examination intends to test the analytical thinking ability of the applicant. To earn place in universities of great repute, you need to score good grades in academics. And apart from academics, it intends to test the general comprehension of the aspirant. We have nine tips to prepare for this examination.
1. Don’t panic
Avoid reading through books. The SAT tests the overall knowledge that you gained over a period of time. Most probably you’re preparing for this examination for at least six months before the exam.
2. Adopt your own strategy
Preparing for SAT involves focusing your energy on one area. You probably joined a SAT prep training program.
3. Take an order according your choice
SAT may not present you questions in either increasing or decreasing order of difficult. Know the questions that are easy for you. You can answer them first and you can focus the difficult ones later. The questions are on critical reading, writing skills, and math.
4. Critical reading
In sentence completion, each sentience contains one or two blanks. You need to fill in the blanks with the right vocabulary. Understand the logic of the sentence. Read the sentence, you could guess the word that would follow. If you know the one of the answers, apply your logic finish it.
5. Multiple choice questions
The multiple choice questions section comprises three portion, namely Sentence improvement, spotting the error in the sentence and improving the quality of given paragraphs. Check the logic that is in each of the sentence. You could do it by intelligently eliminating the choices finally reaching the correct option.
6. Writing test
In writing test, you are assigned an opened-ended topic for which you need to advance your standpoint. Essay tests help you get a higher score in the exam. It'll help in making your overall performance better. Make sure express your stand pint with clarity. If possible, take examples from real world. Grammatical errors may be ok. However, from logic point of view, ensure your essay focuses on the topic under discussion and is organized well.
7. Multiple choice questions on math
For answering multiple choice questions in math, you'll be provided with a list of reference (useful facts, formula, etc.) data. You need to be able to apply the data. You are permitted to use non-programmable calculator. As you have the formula, try plugging the answer choice numbers.
8. Math grid
These question need to answered by yourself. In other words, question will be given, you have to find the answer and fill it into the grid. Remember the answer must not be negative. You're allowed to write mixed number. In such a case, convert it into an improper fraction or decimal.
9. Practice
The secret mantra for success in SAT is practice. Practice brings you confidence and will help you solve the questions fast and help get a higher score.
