How to take care of Crepe Fabric

Designers and consumers always choose the fabric which is rich in texture and give a garment awe- inspiring look. The main reason to select this kind of fabric because the brand provides the style quotient, the fabric defines class. Vintage fabrics are the Silk, original leather, fur etc and Contemporary fabrics which is most chosen by fashion world are the crepe, blended silk, linen. Crepe is well liked by customers and designer among the contemporary fabrics. Crepe fabrics are characterized by a crinkled or pebbled texture and used in blouses and dresses with graceful fold.

The twisting of fibers can be done in two ways. During the weaving process, the twisting of fibers can be obtained through irregular patterns and the other way, it can be obtained by creating permanent patterns with rollers engraved with a crepe design on the surface of a finished fabric through the application of heat and pressure. Crepe fabrics can be produced by using fibers ranging from silk, wool, polyester or cotton. One of the most widely used fabrics in the garment industry is the crepe fabric that uses the polyester fibers because the garments are wrinkle free and comfortable. The Word Crepe comes from the French word. Crepe is a type of silk fabric. The material which is soft and has wavy look to its surface are Crepe de Chine, or Canton crape. Hard crepe is another kind of fabric with a crimp or crisped appearance and it associated with Great Britain. Soft Crepe fabric is used in many India saris. We can take of this fabric very easily because it is a season spanning fabric. Crepe fabric is also available in various types like wool, polyester or silk. It has a crimped look, so it used for clothing. You can always dry clean the silk fabric because it is delicate and also dry clean the wool or polyester but also you can wash in your hand if did it right.

Fill a tub with 1-gallon warm water and 1 tsp with delicate laundry detergent

Swish the water until detergent dissolved in water.

Soak the crepe fabric in to the soapy water and gently rub over the crepe.

Take the fabric out and wring it. Rinse the fabric well until soapy water gets out.

Then allow the crepe fabric to dry.

Use warm iron to iron the crepe fabric and always remember to iron underside of the crepe fabric. Use cold iron to iron the silk fabric. Place the thin towel between the crepe while ironing.
