"Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated."? Confucius.

I have noticed something similar with the coaches these days. They keep on adding unnecessary stuff to the training regimen and end up making it more complicated. Instead of pruning the unnecessary stuff and keeping it simple.

Stay close to the basics and elementary stuff rather then trying to touch the sky standing on your stoop. Ask yourself why am I doing this drill? Or why am I using this training method? It will also help you to keep things simple.

All the great coaches and athletes keep things simple, because they understand that success lies in doing simple things amazingly well.

Ryder cup golf player, Brad Faxon had this to say this about multiple major winner Jordan Speith: "A lot of guys are looking for information to make things more complicated, but Jordan is always looking to make things simpler".

One of the coaches who keeps things very simple is Vlado Platenik, and I admire him for that. One day I was reading one of his players interview he had currently worked with, Daria Kasatkina, Vlado said "As a player, when you are under pressure, always try keep it simple. Don’t over think or plan things, just keep it simple"

One day I found famous world cup winning coach Steve Hansen Quote this "As coaches, our job is to make the complex simple. The simplier you can make it for somebody, the easier it is to do".

So here is the crux of all those quotes we went thru at the beginning of the article. When we keep it simple we keep things clearer, we don’t overthink things and in turn lessen the chances of doubting ourselves. When we keep things simple we are able to find the answers and solutions to the questions pretty easy and quick.

Also try to include set routines into your training regimens which will help you keep things simple and easily understood, especially when under pressure in a competitive atmosphere.

Keep plans simple, keep strategy simple and keep communication simple. Simple thinking is smart thinking.
