Scaffolding is the most common terminology used in construction works. Scaffoldings provide a way to the construction workers access to high rise buildings or an area or fixture or spot at work site which is difficult to reach. The construction workers use scaffoldings to reach and access the work spots. Based on the need of construction activity, the construction site, the structure being constructed, the safety involved and the functionality of the scaffolding a specific type of scaffolding is used from the types available.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF SCAFFOLDINGS AVAILABLE

It is important to choose the correct scaffolding to account for the safety aspects of the job. The four types of scaffolding commonly used are described below in brief:

1. Supported scaffolding: this scaffold is for high rise or elevation work. If a construction requires elevated work or work areas are at a raised level, the most commonly used scaffolding type is supported scaffolding.

a. This scaffolding work best for increased weight, when the work site requires a lot of construction material at a raised level, extra support can be added to the supported scaffolding.

b. This scaffolding also works for construction projects of requiring long use of scaffolding. It is believed to be the most safe and easiest form of scaffolding available. Also it is the most cost effective scaffolding available.

  1. Suspended Scaffolding: this scaffolding according to its name is the support structure which is suspended or hanging for the roof of the construction site or another tall construct. This is commonly used when it becomes difficult to construct a base around the construction site for supported scaffolding. Mostly, this type of scaffolding is employed when the construction workers are required to reach the upper levels or work site at upper levels and building from the ground is not feasible. For example window cleaners, use similar scaffolding for cleaning of top tower windows. This scaffolding is also used for repairs of high rise and upper levels work site.
  2. Rolling Scaffolding: as the name suggests this is a mobile or a movable scaffolding. In structure it is similar to supported scaffolding but it has caster wheels at its base which allow for the scaffolding to move from one work site to another. Thus the scaffolding need not be deconstructed and reassembled it simply can be moved to a different construction site. The wheels of the scaffolding can be locked when the construction workers are working on it.

Let’s see the benefits of LVL scaffold planks for scaffolding needs:

These are high quality strong and lightweight scaffolding planks. The structural properties of a LVL plank are defined by its strength and long lasting feature. The LVL scaffold plank as a product is used in high grade scaffoldings to replace the traditional timber. Also it is used in corrosive environments at construction site which are not suitable for metal planks. Thus they are durable, tough and long lasting in caustic construction environments. Their strength is also increased by their wax emulsion end seal which reduces any moisture ingress. Due to their light weight quality, they are easier to install, saving time.
