There is difference in approach of marketing when it done for conversions and for branding. The primary difference comes because of the overall marketing goal. If the same marketing approach is for both the goals, most likely it won’t be effective as expected. While a branding campaign aims more and more eyeballs and engagement with the brand in question, a conversion oriented campaign aims sales and returns.

The same philosophy applies for food branding as well, but it still is a bit different from a usual product’s campaign. For instance, a search network advertising campaign with AdWords of Bing Ads may not be the good fit for branding and even sales to some extent. The reason is obvious, the actual potential customers of a brand selling food items do not usually search for what they need on search engine. If you co-relate to yourself, will you doing a search on Google ready to eat rice or pulses? No, you won’t do it usually. Such products are effectively sold as impulse buying behaviour. Hence, when it comes to food marketing services, other online channels like social media would be more effective. Because here, besides branding aggressively, you can also do exactly what a store does to boost impulse buying of a product. While your audience are consuming similar contents on social media channel, your ads can be a good fit to instigate interests.

However, it may not apply for all food businesses. Businesses like restaurants can do amazingly well if they have strategic local search based search network campaign as well.

In general, promotion on social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Pinterest are always a great fit for any type for business. You can make use of your lucrative food and beverage packaging design to market on social networking websites. Here, your marketing material needs to be image rich. For reason you packing design will play a crucial role. Make sure to have digital version of your marketing materials ready. Have them in digital formats like images, videos etc. They will be immensely helpful in branding your brand online on social networking websites.

One very important thing to do while branding your food business online is offer something free to create engagement. Have an official page on all these social networking websites and run different competitions and offer something free to the winners. If you are selling some food product, you can offer free samples for those products delivered to the winners’ door steps. Or if you are a restaurant, you can offer certain percentage of discount on the bill on a certain day or days. But whatever you do, do it at intervals consistently. For instance, you ran a campaign for a week starting from today. Make sure to start a new one next week or next month. Do that consistently, it really helps a lot in creating buzz about your brand.
