How to find the right wedding photo booth
Posted: May 15, 2016
Hi everyone,
My cousin Tim had a wedding last weekend and I was put in charge of all the photography related arrangements by you guesses who...My mother!
It might sound like a lot, but in reality all I had to do was to book the best photographer in town and find an inexpensive photo booth for rent within the Richmond area.
Needless to say, I have exceeded everyone's expectations which was especially easy since no one in the family was counting on me doing an outstanding job.
I did do a lot of calling around and talking to different photographers at places like Starbucks over a cup of coffee and the more classy ones who wanted to meet at a neighborhood McDonalds and "snack" on a double freakin big mac! I didn't hire any of the guys from Micky D's of course...
I though that picking out a wedding photographer would be hard comparing to the photo booth rental, but boy, was I wrong! The 7th guy I've met with at the park was the one I ended up hiring on the spot, because everything about his was right! Great guy, awesome equipment, had great review online and recommendations from friends.
This is when I got to searching for a photo booth...
First, I found out how many companies there are in the area and after making some calls narrowed it down to the ones who actually answer their phones! Then, I called again to inquire about the services they offer, types of photo booths, set up times, availability and any specials they had running, especially since I've spent most of the budget on the top rated photographer. Out of the four companies I called, only two had specials going on. One was a well established company and the other was brand new in town.
The established guys had a 20 percent off deal for a 4 hour rental with no setup fee plus all the accessories and the new guys were doing 50 percent off any rental over 3 hours with a free setup as well, but no mustaches and glasses.
I was in a clear jam for money and went with the new company of the block and am so glad that I did! The guys who setup the booth were extremely professional and patient with us while showing how to use all the features. They did bring a bunch of masks and stuff for us free of charge, and when the wedding was over, they cam by, wrapped everything up and were gone withing 30 minutes. That is what I call professionalism and dedication to your customer!
The ones I went with are: Photo Booth Rental Richmond
I want to point out the importance of doing you research on anything you're going to spend your money on and to never take the small businesses out of the equation! I feel that so many people hire the first big company they see and then complain about lack of good customer service... Don't make the same mistake!
I recall so many times when I personally ran over to the first guy or gal offering the service, bought it from them and then a couple of days later came across the same exact thing for three quarters of the price and possibly even better quality. I can't stress enough the importance of good research!
I hope this helps you weed out the bad apples in the future when searching for something. Never settle for less!
