Sexually transmitted health problems are exponentially increasing in teenage women. It is found that teenage women of the present generation are most active sexually. This change in lifestyle is giving rise to a lot of health issues especially among young women. Read on to know more about sexually transmitted infections and how to deal with them.

Bumps down there

You might raise a red flag as soon as you see a bump in your genital region. Whether it’s a simple rash, inflamed follicle or a pimple, reasons can be many for a bump in the genital area. STI bumps can also be same in appearance and can be painless. Just don’t, panic if you see any bump down there with a calm mind consult your doctor.

Tests that is not valid

When you are in doubt that you have any STI what you do? Obviously go for those self tests like Pap Smears. But doctors warn that these tests just diagnose the symptoms not the cause. Like Pap Smear tests looks for precancerous cells that are a result of infection due to HPV but do not check HPV or any other STI itself.

Doctors warn against the validity of these self-use tests. They are developed as just preliminary precautions and not a thorough diagnosis.

Already affected

Don’t go for those absurd advises that say HPV vaccinations cannot be useful if you are already infected by a virus. This is wrong taking vaccinations even when you are affected help you prevent the virus strains from spreading.

If you doubt that you have any STI consult your doctor. It might be a regular health trouble.

Not every sign is a danger

Burning, fishy odor, fluid discharge or frequent urination- these are not always signs of an infection and you should keep that in mind. Most of the time it is bacterial vaginosis a common infection that disturbs the natural bacteria balance in vagina. But be sure to consult your doctor for treating this infection as BV can cause immune deficiency giving other STIs a boost.

Condoms are necessary

And we don’t mean the male condoms but female condoms provide a much better protection and immunity against skin to skin communicable sexually transmitted infections. Doctors suggest that new age women should be comfortable with sexual protection measures. There is no need to shy away from your safety and health concerns and female condoms are best to avoid STIs. There is more than one way to keep yourself safe from the STIs.

Don’t lose touch

Be best friend with your vagina and keep a strict eye on what’s going on there. Knowing your vagina gives you chance to point out any change or irregularity that may be a reason of concern. Therefore never get out of touch with your vagina.
