The metal textiles which are the knitted wire mesh are basically the high temperature seals and the high temperature gaskets which provide elasticity, strength in condensation and a nearly absolute choice of the materials, the constructions, or in the shapes for the particular applications. Most importantly, the high temperature seals provide deluxe execution in adverse atmosphere where the other materials would fail as a result of the dissolution or disproportion.

The knitted mesh seals have no bonds or jest— normally the weak parts of any kind of seal—it is because it is when used in the sealing applications, it provide high-strength conformity throughout the sealing area. Unlike the interlaced or the braided materials, the knitted mesh wire consists of a prolonged series of intertwining loops which is knitted in a tubular form and allowing the two-dimensioned movement in the plane of the mesh. As a result in unusual elasticity and condensation, even under the heavy squeezing of loads and displaying it to the extreme temperatures. As a result to its fundamental condensation and strength in compression, the knitted wire mesh also harvests to the devoted force— and hence it recovers to nearly its original shape and structure when the force is removed.

The different types of metallic high temperature seals are as follows:

a) E – Seals – they are efficient in sealing the liquids or the gasses.

b) C – Seals - efficient of handling the temperatures of about 1400°F (760°C) and the pressures from vacuum of about 60,000 units.

c) Omega Seals – the main feature of this seal is the low leakage rate of this seal.

The other seals are which are also equally important are:

a) Lever seals

b) Super c seals

c) U mega seals

d) Multi convolution seals

e) Axial c seals

f) V – seals

The more constant and the more widely resistant the high-pressure seals are newly designed to survive longer, limiting the random repose and getting the dormant for extending the planned maintenance breach. The high temperature seal parts which have been field-proven across the oil and the gas industry and are found in such applications which are as follows:

a) The tubing to packer the seals.

b) The subsurface safety valves.

c) The logging of the boots.

d) Casting the tie - back of the seals.

e) Survey the tool seals.

f) Slipping the joint seals.

g) Lastly the high pressure seals and the high temperature seals (HPS) (HTS)

The high temperature sealing applications, such as those in the waste gas and the engine operations, need a gasket type of material which is efficient enough for maintaining a long-term seal at variable temperatures which are often in excess of 500°C. At these high temperatures, the customary gasket materials suffer very much from the prompt the thermal decadence which excludes their use as an elemental in the gasket materials.

The knitted wire mesh with the high temperature seals might be used for the static joints and as well as those joints where there is the ability of disposing in the replicated termination.
