All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) B.Sc. Nursing will conduct its counselling sessions for the academic year 2016-2017 after the declaration of the results for the entrance test to be held in June 2016. The AIIMS B.Sc. Nursing course is two-fold: a) B.Sc. Nursing (post-basic) and b) B.Sc. Nursing (Hons.).The counselling sessions are conducted only for AIIMS B.Sc. Nursing (Hons.) course.
The first round of counselling is scheduled from 18th to 20th July 2016 and the second round is scheduled on 20th August 2016. These counselling sessions are applicable for all the 7 AIIMS centres in India. The third round of counselling, if there are vacant seats, will be held on 28th September 2016 in AIIMS New Delhi.

For B.Sc. Nursing course the number of candidates called for counselling will be 4 times the number of seats advertised. The order of counselling will be General/OBC/ST/SC.
The counselling will be done solely on the basis of the rank achieved by the candidates in the merit list.
The candidate will be allowed to choose a subject of his / her choice during the counselling sessions. Only those candidates who secure at least 55 percentile for unreserved category and 50 percentile for the reserved category will be eligible.
- First Counselling - Round 1:
The First Counselling will be conducted from 18th to 20th July 2016. The counselling will be strictly conducted in the order of the merit rank attained by the candidate. Each candidate in the order of merit will be allowed to choose their subject in accordance with the availability of seats.
In the case of an absentee, the next person in the combined merit list will be taken into consideration. If a person belonging to the reserved category is selected in the combined merit list, then he will be allowed to choose a subject both in the unreserved and his/her concerned reserved category. If the seats for the chosen subject are available in the unreserved category, then the candidate will be treated as belonging to the unreserved category and will be granted an unreserved seat. However, this provision for the reserved category candidate is available only if he/ she comes in the combined merit list. Otherwise, the counselling for the reserved category will begin only after the counselling for the unreserved category is completed.
If for any candidate, the seat in their subject of choice is not available then they need to choose another subject in which the seats are available. This seat will be provisional and will only be confirmed in the second round of counselling.

The Second Counselling will be conducted on 20th August 2016.
Those candidates who had been allotted a provisional seat in the available subject during the first counselling will now be able to confirm their seat as per their merit. However, this allotment will be based strictly on their rank in the merit list.
If a candidate eligible for the Second Counselling fails to attend the second round of counselling then he/ she loses his/ her provisional seat and the vacant seat will be made available to other candidates during the Open Counselling session.
