Expansions Continue for FleetCor

In recent years, fuel cards have grown greatly in popularity, as more and more people have started to realize their benefits. While these benefits are great in number, the main ones are that they offer up an extra line of credit for fleet managers and give them instant insight into all transactions made by their fleet, including information on fuel purchase locations, fuel costs, and where and by whom funds were spent.

One of the major businesses behind fuel cards is FleetCor Technologies, which has locations all over the globe with a United States base in Norcross, Georgia. The company has steadily been gaining attention and recognition in recent years for its rapid expansion. The company, which is active in the United States, South America, Europe (where it even refunds via a rebate the country’s Value Added Tax and offers the popular EuroShell Card Kompakt), Africa, and Asia, has grown to become one of the world’s largest providers of fuel cards, such as the FuelMan cards, The FuelCard Company, and FleetCardsUSA, among others.

Recently, it expanded its scope even further, into both Mexico and Brazil and is predicting further growth in other Latin American countries, as well as in France and Russia.

While it has been involved in many exciting and groundbreaking expansions in recent years, one of its most exciting was its acquisition of the British and Irish fuel card business, Retail Decisions, in 2009. Just two years later, it would buy the UK based AllStar. Around that same time, FleetCor also entered into a deal to support Shell’s Commercial Fleet fuel cards as well.

While there were initially some fears about FleetCor’s ability to handle such a massive range of operations, it has succeeded in each new venture it has tried. Currently, it services hundreds of thousands of accounts on a daily basis and has more exciting prospects for growth and expansion in the future.

Continuing its track record of expansion, the company recently collaborated with FleetMatics to create a widely successful FleetMatics Fuel Card. The card has gained immense popularity for its ability to manage and reduce fuel costs for fleets by providing extremely careful monitoring of all spending on the cards.

And while many companies surely hope to mimic FleetCor and to understand its "recipe for success," the company believes its success is due to simple reasons- its flexible billing and payment choices, its hands-on personal assistance, its included training, and the great control it strives to give all users of its products.

FleetCor is also notable for its willingness to work with clients who others might turn down, such as those without perfect credit histories. For such consumers, FleetCor offers a pay as you go fuel card, as well as a "top up" program known as Diesel Advance, which allows operators to fill up their fuel cards in advance via regular and/or sporadic deposits.

FleetCor also offers specialty software and other programs that aim to help fleet managers better control their fleets, understand their spending habits, and improve in terms of how much they spend and what they get for their money. The company is one that truly does everything within its power to help put the customer and his best interests first.

That should explain all of the successful ventures and growth that FleetCor has enjoyed over the years...as well as the fact that this success and expansion doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Indeed, there are some exciting new growth and expansion prospects on the horizon for FleetCor, and people are encouraged to "stay tuned" to see what the future will hold. And, for those not yet involved with FleetCor, there is definitely no better time than the present to get onboard with this wildly successful and fast growing company.
