SBI Associate Bank PO Exam Details and Preparation Tips

With a glorious history of more than 200 years, State Bank of India (SBI) is one of the most reputed Public Sector Banks (PSBs) in India. Many bank job aspirants yearn to work for this bank and appear for the competitive exam conducted by this bank every year. About SBI Associate Bank PO post

Like the other Bank PO posts, the SBI Associate Bank PO post is the junior management level direct entry point for dynamic young graduates in the five Associate Banks of SBI. A probationary officer with the Associate banks of SBI gets exposed to challenging assignments & opportunities in nation building & development activities. The opportunities include working in Personal Banking, Rural Banking, Credit, Forex, Treasury etc.

Selection Procedure

The selection procedure for SBI Associate Bank PO posts consists of two phases. Phase- I includes a written examination with a duration of three hours consisting of an Objective Test for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Phase-II consists of Group Discussion of 20 marks and Interview of 30 marks.

The online Objective Test consists of General Awareness, Marketing & Computer, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. Marks allotted for each of the section are 50 marks taking the total to 200 marks. The questions in this online Objective Test, except for the test of General English are bilingual i.e., in English and Hindi. The time allotted for this test is two hours and there is negative marking to the tune of ¼ marks for each wrong answer. Aspirants need to pass in each of the subjects in the Objective Test. After that, they have to appear for the Descriptive Test of 50 marks.

Under the SBI Associate Bank PO selection process, marks secured by the candidates in the Phase-I out of 250 marks are converted to out of 75 marks and marks secured in Phase-II out of 50 marks are converted to out of 25 marks. The final merit list is then made after aggregating converted marks of Phase- I and II out of 100 marks.
