Alex M. Sova - Long Business Career
Posted: Jun 15, 2016
Alex M. Sova has had a long and productive business career based mostly in his community in and around Southfield and Waterford, Detroit. Growing up in Waterford and graduating from Waterford High School, Sova didn’t let his surroundings of disadvantage keep his dreams down. He started working at Mitch’s Restaurant while still attending Waterford High School and quickly learned the basic operations of a local small business. He worked as a line cook for a few years before he moved up to become the assistant manager of the restaurant. Sova found himself in charge of ordering supplies, making schedules for employees, cleaning the restaurant, and managing the books.
The experience that Alex M. Sova absorbed during his time at Mitch’s allowed him to find a new job as a superintendent for Midwest Steel, a national company with large projects throughout the United States. Sova was in charge of managing these projects, some of which involved multi-million dollar investments and budgets. Sova moved on to American Steel as an owner and partner. His five years managing construction projects throughout the country as a superintendent and his additional five years working as a partner for American Steel made it possible to form his own steel company, Sova Steel.
Alex M. Sova came into his own with Sova Steel. Using all of his skill as a business administrator that he taught himself over the years, his experience working in steel as a business leader, and his work ethic to build a trusted, reliable, productive company that ended up supplying some of the manufacturing work and the raw materials for a few of the most iconic buildings in Detroit, including Comerica Park and Ford Field. Sova Steel was a huge success for Sova over the years. He managed the company for 18 years. In 2003, while he was still managing Sova Steel, Sova purchased Nationwide Envelope Specialists, Inc.
Alex M Sova continues to manage Nationwide Envelope Specialists, Inc., turning his full attention to the company in 2009 when he officially left Sova Steel. Sova brought Nationwide Envelope into the 21st century by helping to develop new customer service systems and programs available on its website, making it easier for businesses to get the supplies and manufacturing work they need faster. In 2012, Sova founded another business, Exergy Solutions, which works to develop new alternative energy systems and technologies. Sova opened the company near his hometown of Waterford in Southfield, Michigan.
