Since it's launch in 2006, Twitter has quickly risen to become one of the world's largest social media sites, having over 500 million registered users to date. There are few people today who haven't at least heard of Twitter, even your grandma whom perhaps has never touched a computer in her life, could likely tell us that it has something to do with the internet. It is among the top ten most visited websites on the Internet, right up there with Google, Facebook and Amazon. It's origins meant to be for colleagues or friends or even total strangers to exchange ideas or random thoughts via short bursts of information in text messages. It has come a long way since it's launch, not just in how many people use it, but in the many ways in which it is used today.

Many of it's over 160 million active users actually use the The Social Calling website to help spearhead their search for a job. Creating professional Twitter profiles and personal pages to be easily passed on to as many possible future employers as they can, hoping to give them all the information they would seek to learn from an old fashioned resume and then some. Some employers may even take the opportunity to learn a bit more about their new prospect, gathering information on what's been said on those Twitter accounts and learning a little more about exactly whom is trying to work for them. Twitter even allows for easy quick responses both from the job seeker and employers interested in hiring them, allowing for a sort of "pre-interview".

Several years ago, before Facebook, Twitter, Google and Amazon took over the world Internet. It would have been entirely ludicrous to think that it would be so easy to pass out resumes by the hundred. So easy to answer questions from possible future employers who may or may not be half way around the world. To be able to do it all from the comfort of your own home and with, more or less, the use of just a smart phone or laptop and Internet connection. In today's world, it's doubtful many find it so strange an idea, there are so many websites out there for those seeking employers or employees. Today, it only seems natural, that people would look to one of the fastest rising and most wildly popular social media sites for finding jobs or employees.
