This can create a metallic taste and alter the water colour. Particles of magnesium or calcium can also alter PH and encourage scale growth on fixtures, dishes or appliances.

If the food and drink we consume are too acidic, it can lead to slower immune system responses and weight gain. However, if the diet is too alkaline, it can lead to the body having an inability to metabolise vital nutrients. Everything we eat and drink, together with the emotions we feel and any medications we take can all impact our PH. The human body is continually striving to balance the PH level, so we can make the process easier by controlling what we consume.

How Filtering Affects PH:

The process of filtering water eliminates any particles contained in the water, such as metals, minerals and other contaminants. This can have a significant impact on the water PH as it is brought closer to being pure water. A good quality water filter will also remove chemical traces such as chlorine. This not only improves the water PH but improves the taste and appearance of the water, making it more palatable.
