Travel is a passion many bikers indulge in. To go away from the clutter of the city and enjoy the treats that nature has to offer is a joy. While on the road, the thrill of the journey can often be tarnished by lack of essential riding equipment which can save you a lot of trouble when needed. Here is a list of few things every biker should carry, no matter how long or short the journey is.

A spare key is a lifesaver for clumsy people. If you have the tendency of misplacing small objects, a spare key can come in very handy and save you from getting stuck in the middle of nowhere. Keep the spare key in a safe place like in a small zip in your travel bag or a small compartment of your toolkit.

An air-pressure gauge is the size of a pen. It is one of the most essential tools to carry in your toolkit and is a very handy device when you need to check the pressure of your tyre in case you suspect punctures. It is also a very healthy habit to check the air pressure from time to time to have a smooth and comfortable ride.

Next in line of usefulness is the multi-tool. A portable collection of hand tools, a multi-tool features a range of utility paraphernalia. A multi-tool often comes in the form of a key ring and can be attached to your belt loop or jacket for ease of access.

When on a trip, a flash light or a small penlight is a must in every biker’s kit. A pen light makes small repairs and cleaning activities easier. You can also use it to read maps while trailing the routes during the night. Attach it to your keychain or just pop it into your toolkit. A penlight comes with replaceable batteries, so don’t forget to carry a few spare ones.

Last on the list but not the least, a good pair of earplugs can go a long way in protecting your ears against the harsh wind and loud noises. Earplugs protect your ear drums and reduce distractions by blocking excess noise and the impact of the wind on your eardrums. When you are more focused on your ride, you tend to ride safer and can better enjoy the experience of riding.
