CAT 2016 Exam Notification

Common Admission Test (CAT) is the most sought out MBA entrance exam in the country. Every year thousands of aspirants, work hard and prepare themselves for the ultimate goal, that is to crack CAT. The notification regarding CAT 2016 has not been out yet. However, It is expected that the notification regarding the CAT exam will be out by the end of July 2016 or in August 2016.

Last year, CAT 2015 exam came as a jolt to the students with a lot of changes in the exam pattern and the counseling procedure. The exam does not have a fixed pattern or syllabus, and hence it manages to surprise students with something new every year. One can expect some new changes this year as well.

The exam pattern of CAT 2015 comprised of three sections namely- Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability, and Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation. Earlier there were only two sections where Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation were clubbed in as the first section, while the Verbal Ability and the Logical Reasoning section together comprised as the second section. This division of topics and combination of Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation was not welcomed happily by the aspirants. The other changes that were introduced was that the sections were time bounded. Each section had a time limit of 60 minutes and candidates were not able to shuffle between the sections. One could only move on to the next section once the time allotted to the previous section was over. One could not even move on to the next section even after completing the section. The total time of the test was also increased to 180 minutes from 170 minutes. CAT exam was an objective type multiple choice test until last year, where subjective questions were also introduced. Candidates had to solve the questions and fill in the answer manually.

This year CAT 2016 is expected to be held in the last week of November, by IIM Bangalore. Last year IIM Ahmedabad was the conducting body of the exam. The official notice regarding IIM Bangalore conducting the exam is not yet out. Aspirants are eagerly waiting for the notification, which also reveals the date, pattern, and changes in the exam if any.
