Women generally have menstruation every month for about 4-5 days, and this is a sign that their bodies are fertile and they can give birth to young ones. Early menopausal symptoms may occur in women who are undergoing radiation, hormone therapy or chemotherapy. Every woman shows different symptoms and there are some women who suffer terribly during menopause and they long for respite from these uncomfortable symptoms.

Firstly the bleeding cycle starts to change, and the periods either become very frequent or very rare. With time, women start getting their periods after about 21 days and then the periods slowly stop. This erratic period cycle may last for about 1-3 years and the woman may face night sweats, hot flushes, increased heart rate, skin flushing, loss of sleep, faster heart beat, lack of interest in sexual activities, loss of memory, vaginal dryness, stress, vaginal infections, heart palpitations, joint pain, irritability, headache and depression.

These symptoms are a sign that the body is undergoing changes and the woman needs to make some necessary alterations in lifestyle and diet. The stomach discomfort can be controlled by reducing spicy foods, alcohol and caffeine. Foods rich in estrogen, calcium and other minerals and vitamins like soya flour can help in the discomfort caused by night sweats, flushing and other symptoms. The daily routine needs regular exercise and meditation. Yoga can be very helpful in treating these conditions and keeping the reproductive organs healthy.
